An Easygoing Mule Built Better
Is it a shoe? Is it a slide? Well, it’s a little bit of both. It’s a mule, and it’s 100% awesome. The Harbor Mule VR3 Terry Cloth features a one-piece suede upper lined with recycled soft and fuzzy textiles for a fit that you’ll want to sink into day in and day out. The midsole uses the same foam found in our UltraRange VR3, and features a full-length rubber outsole for the durability and grip that’s been built into Vans shoes since 1966. It’s that simple: easy on, easy off. . . wherever life takes you.
The Vans team has set ambitious sustainability goals. Big or small, all of their efforts add up to positive change. To earn the Checkerboard globe logo, at least 30% of the product must be made up of one or a combination of recycled, renewable, and/or regenerative materials.
UPPER MATERIAL: The upper is made with suede and fabric made with 100% US cotton from farmers using agricultural practices that can help improve a soil’s ability to absorb carbon. Vans support responsible manufacturing via the Leather Working Group.
MIDSOLE: The new midsole is made using at least 50% biobased EVA foam partially derived from plant-based sources per the ASTM D6866-16 testing standard.
OUTSOLE: All of the rubber used to make this outsole (60% of the compound) is regeneratively grown natural rubber sourced from farms utilizing agricultural practices that are intended to promote biodiversity, enhance water cycles, improve soil health and/or sequester carbon. This natural rubber compound was developed and engineered to maintain the grip and durability Vans is known for (since 66).
